A little Wednesday Morning Reflecting

Recommended Posts

This quote hangs in my kitchen near where we come in and out as a reminder to myself and to my family to always live in the ring, to never sit the bench in your own life. As I sat here drinking my Protein Shake waiting to get the kids off the camp so I can go to bed (Night Shift) I really started to reflect on how this quote relates to us and to all of you in our WLS journeys. We've all faced adversity, failures, judgement and yet we are here, still making the conscious decision to change our lives. How many times have people outside the ring made hurtful comments about not needing surgery, but will power, or about taking the easy way out? They do not stand in this ring they don't know your struggles and they don't know how NOT easy this road will be. I can't take credit for the quote itself, it's from my girl Brene Brown but it's hung in my home for a long time and its brought peace in many situations I have face especially the journey I am on now! I wanted to share because I thought it may help someone else to see that those critics don't matter. Their words are painful but their words cannot stop us from achieving all that we have set our minds to. Have a great Wednesday everybody! ❤️

Now that is One of our former Presidents I would have loved to meet and talk to. If he had 1/2 the sense of humor as his Daughter.Alice Roosevelt Longworth, he would be Fascinating, simply Fascinating! And a plug for my Natal and Still My State, Nicholas Longworth was. once a Congressman from Ohio.

Frustr8 I hope I didn’t make it sound like I didn’t know it was originally his quote 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just meant I didn’t find it myself I heard it from a Brene Brown Ted Talk.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
