Is it possible to stall at 2 weeks???

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve April 19th, the first 2 weeks I was losing weight but after the second week I have just stopped losing. The scale stopped moving up or down. It's been the same for 2 weeks now. I'm eating the right foods, walking and doing as much as I can on my side. Has this happened to anyone? I'm feeling confused and have moments of regret since I still have pain from time to time.

This absolutely happened to me! I was stalled for 3 weeks - then lost 10 lbs in one week. Don’t stress - your weight loss will start again! I know it’s easy for me to say but at the time I was freaked out too!

I am in my 2nd month as had my operation on April 3. I have stalled twice. First time 9 days and this time for a week. So it is frustrating. I am going to add more shakes and less food today. See if I can jumpstart this again.

pretty much everyone has their first stall sometime during the first month after surgery, so yes - that's normal. I stalled weeks 2 and 3. My weight loss started up again during week 4, and I dropped like 6-8 lbs practically overnight.

It's perfectly normal. Most people stall around Week 4, but it's possible, every body is different to stall at Week 2. Your body just went through a major trauma, so it's adjusting and learning about the new you. Stalls are inevitable and part of the WLS process.

Yep! I stalled on Day 12 after surgery, and stayed in that stall for a week and a half. Not fun - but a reminder that just because your body should do something, doesn't mean it will. I mean, there;s no earthly way your body should not be losing weight on 500 calories a day - but there it was. Just strap yourself in - it's going to be a long and eventful journey!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
