is it possible to not lose??

Recommended Posts

I am like 7 weeks post op and I’ve been dealing with a stall for almost two weeks and it’s making me feel worried like I am the first medical mystery case that didn’t lose weight. My dietician told me not to count and to just eat consciously and that’s what I’ve been doing.
Protein first and almost no carbs because I don’t even have the room after the protein. Granted, I am not exercising like I should but not losing doesn’t make sense looking at how little I can eat.

my first stall lasted two weeks. A friend of mine's lasted 3.5 weeks. Just stick to your program and the the weight loss will start up again. If I had a nickle for everyone who got into a stall and thought they'd be the first person whom WLS didn't work for I'd be rich! It'll work - just stick to your plan. Stay off the scale if you have to - but rest assured the surgery will work!

I guess it’s kind of nice to see that I am on track with everyone psychologically :) I can’t wait until I am at least 6 months out.

It's normal to stall. I had a stall at Week 4 for two weeks, as is typical for most people post-op, and then I hit another stall at Month 4 that lasted for an entire month despite eating the right number of calories, drinking my Water, getting my Protein, and exercising. I thought I was the only person in history to not lose weight. It's just a natural thing for your body to do at certain pre-set points. Stay off the scale for a while and let it pass.

I agree! I stalled on my second week, thinking I did something wrong, but, no, just your body healing and adjusting! Just like the stalls come, so do the losses! The only time to be concerned is if something goes wrong. Stick to the plan and follow it..use the the wls surgery tool as you should, and everything falls into place as it should. And discuss things in here...it helps! This is a wonderful group of ladies & gentlemen, supporting one another, no matter what part of the journey they are on.

Make sure you are drinking your Water. The water is what helps flush the fat out of your system. Also make sure you're eating enough food that your body is not in starvation mode.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
