The Multivitamin ONE does not meet the ASMBS standard. Does anyone take this and have any problems?

What are you talking about? BariatricPal Multivitamin ONE absolutely meets or exceeds ASMBS guidelines.

10,000 what? 🙂

Multivitamin ONE has 12,727 IU!

You're confusing IU and mcg. We're following the new FDA labeling guidelines. All the other Vitamin companies will be following soon.

ASMBS requires 5,000-10,000 IU.

Conversion rates between mcg RAE and IU are as follows [7]:

  • 1 IU retinol = 0.3 mcg RAE
  • 1 IU beta-carotene from dietary supplements = 0.15 mcg RAE
  • 1 IU beta-carotene from food = 0.05 mcg RAE
  • 1 IU alpha-carotene or beta-cryptoxanthin = 0.025 mcg RAE

See https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminA-HealthProfessional/ for more info on conversions.

Multivitamin ONE has 12,727 IU. That's 333% of your DV for Vitamin A.

You can read the latest ASMBS guidelines at https://asmbs.org/app/uploads/2008/09/ASMBS-Nutritional-Guidelines-2016-Update.pdf .

The FDA is requiring that format in the near future.

I hope that clarifies things for you!

I bought several months supply of ProCare before Bariatric Pal launched theirs. Going to compare them and possibly try One when I run out.

I was thinking of doing the same but I have three bottle of ProCare so it will be a while. I hope someone reviews the new chewable One they just came out with though. I am interested in that.....

Egh. Not me, I couldn't stand the chewables. If they don't have capsules then its no deal for me! To each their own I guess ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
