Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Rants and Raves become NOT for newbies

Recommended Posts

If you don't like it, stay out. If you are going to complain, stop reading.

Don't go to the adult store if your not into body butter, fuzzy handcuffs, 'n porno. And if you do make it into the store, why are you complaining about whats in there?

I'm finished now...:censored:

I love it! Great sense of humor! I really need a good giggle today! :biggrin1:

Maybe carrots go good with Pale Ale? I'm not banded so I PB'd out my nose with that one - excellent!

Further applause to: If you are mature enough to make the life changing decision to get the Lapband in the first place then you are mature enough to decide what posts you want to read and don't want to read.

Rants & Raves is a healthy alternative to eating out of anger, plus I find more valuable info in WordWars here than in mumbojumbo posts from the sameOle know-it-alls who think they invented the band. Some people say whatever they want while others are shot down. Negative band-related topics are too unfrequent but I find lots of secrets revealed in RnR that aid me in making my final decisions.

Let er rip, TaterChip!

I am ranting at the moment that I couldn't resist the Cookies at work today. Why don't Cookies get stuck. They go down like butter.

I couldn't seem to stop myself once I got started. Had salad for dinner, but I am sure the scale is not going to be nice to me in the morning.

I HAVE to do better!

To make sure people understand that it is RNR, make it a bolder color and larger letters on the home screen. Even the Last Post should be bolder. I do like the idea of a screen that will pop up when you enter stating where you are and what its about and having to click an Enter button to go into it. This way people don’t go in if they don’t want to. I have made the mistake of just reading down the Last Post and saw something that looked interesting, not knowing what forum it was under. Maybe that is how people go to RNR by mistake.

One last suggesting, make it the last forum on the home page. That might be the easiest.

I, for one, would find it unbearably obnoxious to face a "warning screen" or "pop-up window" EVERY SINGLE BLEEPING TIME I want read a post in Rants and Raves. I also note that Rants and Raves-type comments frequently are found on other types of threads as well. For example, this thread is in "Suggestions, Feedback & Questions." So I don't think a "Warning Page" would solve anything.

I find it shocking that people feel that they need protection from a little robust bantering. Frankly, I'm embarrassed for anyone who feels that way. I think you are being ridiculous.

Fortunately, when this type of thing has come up before, the owner of this site has had the wisdom to tell people, in essence, to "get over it," and to just ignore anything you are not interested in. I fervently hope he continues with that approach.

I agree. We are all adults here and we don't need e-nannies to look after us. :bounce: When I first joined LBT I spent most of my time in Canada.

When someone mentioned that there was a site where the Americans were getting into nasty brawls I asked for its location and now R&R has become my happy and intellectually stimulating home. :P

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
