The old medicine cup of Fluid every 15 minutes worked and still works for me. 2 oz every 15 minutes makes 8 oz an hour, 8 hours of doing that and voila your magic 64 oz. pills you work in between meals , especially Calcium, space 2 hours between Iron and Good. You eventually set your own rhythm, everybody's might slightly differ.

Sip, sip, and sip some more all day long.

Yep, sipping constantly will become your new norm. Keep in mind that right after surgery you won’t be able to achieve that number but they are goals to work up too. I was able to start getting in all my Water by about the 2nd week. Vitamins will most likely be chewable right after surgery depending on your surgeon . I take one multi and my chewable Calcium first thing in the morning. I take a 2nd chewable calcium at lunch. My last calcium I take about 3. And then at bedtime I take my other multi Vitamin . It seems overwhelming but you’ll quickly get into a routine. My nut gave hand outs with food progression plans as well as a suggested plan on how to get in all my water and vitamins . For the first few weeks /month I had my vitamin schedule on the front of the fridge . Good luck and I’m sure you’ll do great 👍🏻

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
