Anyone else find it difficult with liver shrinking diet with their surgeries?

Recommended Posts

I’m on day 7. I’m surprised I’ve made it this far. It does get easier than day 1 but still hard. I cheated a little but seems like I’m doing something right since I’ve lost 4 pounds. Hopefully I lose more next week. Next week I’m going for my pre surgical testing , Bariatric class and clearance. I can’t believe it’s only a week away.

Congratulations on the weight loss! If nothing else that can be a motivator!

I'm on day 5 of the pre op diet, and some days are easier than others. Yes, I think more Fluid helps, and also sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello. Im also allowed low carb Protein Shakes. I'm hungry all the time, too! We will persevere!

I agree some days are better. I have some of the sugar free pops but have not gotten any Jello yet, I may do that. What’s you favorite thing to eat on the diet so far?

My favorite thing on the diet so far is raw veggies, especially peppers! They're so crunchy and raw veggies seem to fill me up. Im allowed 2 cups of cooked, or 4 cups of raw veggies a day.

I am doing it with my mother and we hold each other accountable. We laugh about it because we think it is to much and always full. It has gotten old as of today. My mom has her surgery in two days. I do not have my date yet. I think it has made it easier for her because I am doing it with her. She has lost 12 lbs on it, myself I have lost 8. So no harm. I am continue to do this diet as long as possible because a ultrasound showed a lot of fatty tissue on my liver. I weighed 287 down to 279. I do however switch up the Protein like shrimp or scallops and fish. I love chicken but 2 weeks is to long for same old same. Keep it up! You can do it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
