An email in my personal email...from this board?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I got an email yesterday, from a woman in the UK - to my personal email address. She says she's from this board. Wanted to advise me directly that she had a problem with her port coming detached.

I just NEVER got a personal email from anyone here - on my home email address. All messages come through LBT.

What gives?

Is there a setting that I can have taken off?

I havent had anything like that either. I had private messages on this board but not to my home e-mail....except the ones from the board telling me someone replied to a message.

Sherilyn:

I email people all the time (2-3x per week) with a personal email that is a "touchy" subject matter.

And I have gotten personal private emails as well.

Hmmmm do you know that person who emailed you? If not I am thinking probably some spam using this forum somehow to do spam broadcasts. (I hate spammers)

See the above message on how to remove the option to allow people to email you. As I recall the sender can not see your email but can send you an email through this system.

I think that's correct. If you reply to the email then they will obviously have your email address.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
