I had my sleeve done on December 10th. I had/have a lot to lose but I've lost 70 pounds since my surgery date

Congratuations on such great results! I was sleeved on Aug. 31, 2018, I am almost at my 6 month mark and have lost 50 pounds. I am 62 years old and I understand that my rate of loss may be less than someone 20 or 30 years younger. I am 35 pounds away from my goal and 6 more months to lose it in, I sure hope I can do it!
Why do you have six more months to lose the last 35 lbs? What's driving that time limit?

I’m in a pretty big stall/plateau phase right now - my February total weight loss was a whopping 1.6 lbs - but overall I’ve lost just about 80 lbs and I’m currently 7 months out from bypass surgery.

It never is a smooth plunge but more stop and starts losing weight after surgery, but all of us will make it to where we should be! And we all will be better than we started out, right?

My 6 months' sleeversary is 30 April. I've had quite a slow start as I hadn't appreciated how sensitive my body is to pretty much everything! So in the first few months I wasn't understanding why I wasn't losing (and gaining loads of Water weight) when I was eating 800cals or less.

So, now, I've adjusted my eating a lot - mainly by not eating pickles, no processed foods like deli meat or heavily flavoured meats - I try and keep as natural as possible. Carbs are a huge trigger too - not so much natural carbs in some veg but anything else is a big no-no. I've also cut back to about 700cals a day and watch my macros like a hawk - Protein, carbs & fat. I try to keep carbs at about 25-30g, protein - over 60g and try and aim for 80g. Keep cheese consumption down to a minimum which is really hard as I love cheese! Thankfully, I can manage to keep a morning coffee in my plan with Stevia drops - although I'm starting to think that I get a bit more hungry when I've had any artificial sweetener so that might have to be eliminated as well! Was thinking of converting to heavy cream. I have to log everything - it helps to keep me accountable - and because I must have some OCD in my DNA, I actually log on 3 apps - MyFitnessPal, MyNetDiary and Baritastic!!

This surgery is definitely not the easy option but it stops me being able to binge when I've had a stressful day, as I always start with the protein and then I get full and the edge of the desire to binge goes away a bit - leaving me a bit frustrated and unfulfilled but I'm working through that with my head-witch. I have to avoid watching any food porn on the TV - it's a constant battle to keep focused ... thankfully, I'm so busy with working and family and grandkids that I don't have many other distractions in my life to take me to the dark side! ha ha

Congratulations on your upcoming sleeveversary! It looks like you’ve worked out a lot of your food macros! I need to look at the whole pickles thing. I don’t do any processed. I used to suffer horribly with headaches and since my pre op diet they are gone! Hallelujah! But I do snack on pickles now and then because they kill my desire for sweets. Is it the sodium level that causes the issue I wonder?
We seem on similar tracks as far as family and grandkids! Now when everyone comes over we all go for a long walk together. Oh the joy of seeing life through the eyes of a babe and the excitement of seeing a bunny or butterfly 🦋
I wish we were in London! We could get our broods together for a romping good time 😎

You got that right sweet thing!! I’m so sorry for your bumpy road and I truly admire how you’ve maintained your unique sense of humor. Especially now since I’ve figured out who precious is 😂😂😂

My weight loss has stalled but I am hungry too. I’m 5 months out now and only 48ish down. Truly stalked. The dieticians aren’t concerned they just changed up my diet. Fingers crossed it works

Same here then I realized I was not sleeping well. I finally started working on getting 5 to 6 hours a night and my weight moved. Took me 4 weeks to figure this out. Dam

I had my surgery 5 months ago and I'm down 49 lbs. Unlike some people, I am really happy with that result. I have never lost weight so fast, and doing it while in perimenopause is like magic to me. My size went from a 22W to a 16 regular. I can do business travel without bringing a seatbelt extender and not be embarrassed to have my picture all over my employer's social media. People have really noticed my loss, and I feel more comfortable in my body. One of the best decisions I have ever made.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
