VSG DAY ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Recommended Posts

So tomorrow sees my VSG day...so hereโ€™s the deal, I was determined it was happening, no nerves, no nothing. So today at work Iโ€™ve been irratable & teary. Alot down to me trying to tie up a lot of loose ends that wont get done if I dont do it...coupled with MORE work piled up on me.

I worked three hours over to pull things back & feel frazzled. I drove home saying to myself โ€œWhat the hell made you choose to do something so extreme?!!...this is a rash decision & youโ€™re gonna regret itโ€

Iโ€™ve come home & gone to bed, no bag packed nothing. I feel numb...I hope this will pass & I dont go on to regret this big time...๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ข

Breathe.... itโ€™s a massive decision but a wonderful decision to make. Work will still be there when you go back.
I was really teary for about 3 days pre-op, not sure I was doing the right thing, worried about the surgery itself, no one to understand my concerns, fears etc. Youโ€™ve got this ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ Once you get through the first week, itโ€™s heaps better. I had little pain just fatigue but sounds like you could some extra sleep too ๐Ÿคญ good luck ๐Ÿ˜˜

Thank you SO much, Phoebes04, youโ€™re right...I feel exhausted & drained. Iโ€™ve told my manager that Iโ€™m having surgery on my hiatus hernia. My colleagues found out today & kept saying to me โ€œSo WHY havenโ€™t you tood us youโ€™ve had surgery??โ€ We should know.

I feel cross about it all & not what I needed emotionally. My husband is fussing over me & its just not what I need...

Thank you for your advice! Xxxx

I had my hiatus hernia done at same time and thatโ€™s what I tell people 99% of the time also. Only a select group of (non judgemental) friends know the truth. Though my boss is a doctor, so he knows the truth.

I was back at work on day 7, but wish I had had the next week off also. I was so tired. Tell your work colleagues itโ€™s none of their business and itโ€™s private and that they should respect that. Thatโ€™s what I said when people โ€˜attackedโ€™ me for not telling them I was having surgery.

Iโ€™m not going to lie, itโ€™s not easy, especially at the start. But if you are like me, Iโ€™ve struggled with my weight for over 40years and sooo looking forward to a healthier, happier, leaner version of me evolving this year ๐Ÿฅฐ

good luck today, youโ€™ve got this ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฝ

You will be fine. I think everyone is nervous before the actual surgery but it is so worth it!! Once you start seeing results hopefully you will feel this is the best decision you've ever made. Good luck on your journey..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card ๐Ÿ
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours ๐Ÿ˜Žย and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, itโ€™s so bad Iโ€™m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. Iโ€™m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily,ย including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well. ย I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening. ย So far as of Jan 1st Iโ€™ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this?? ย Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.ย

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
