MIDBand fill amount

Recommended Posts

My records show that I currently have 8.25 ccs in my MIDBand.

I've heard that it holds 9ccs.

I'm getting a little concerned because, although I have reasonably good restriction, I think I need a small tweek - about .1 cc

I don't want to max out.

Does anyone else have this much in their bands?

Banded April 4/07

Lost 60 lbs.

Feeling great.

I believe it is between 9 - 10 but suggest you contact the doctor who put it in or contact the manufacturer. When I registered my band with the company they were very good at answering any questions posed.

What concerns me is the amount you now have and you think you need a tweek. Has anyone checked your band for leakage. I have 5 ccs in my band I can't eat more than 1 cup of food at any one time. I know the average fill is 5 to 8 ccs.

A lot of what is put into our bands depends on the FAT PAD that is on our stomach...

I was a lower BMI person when I got the band therefore it took 5 cc's at my first fill to get any restriction.

As you lose weight, the fat pad shrinks thereby loosening the band and you'll feel loose restriction and need another fill.

I also have 8.25cc's in my band presently and I think I could still use a little fill... perhaps .25 or .50 I am waiting on the RN to call me back about this.

I also heard (can't rembmer the source) that our French MIDBand they list as a 10cc but in effect holds 13cc's... I know really confusing eh?

Very interesting thread. i just had my first fill on Thursday, 4cc's in a 10 cc band , although my doctor told me my band can actually hold up to 12cc's. Doddie are there signs to watch for for leakage?

There's no leak - the fill nurse is always able to pull out the full amount whenever I go for a fill.

Thanks peaches - I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with that much in their band.

When I called TLBC last week and asked about the 10cc Midband I was told it holds 12 cc. What? I don't get it. How can a 10 cc band hold 12 cc?? I asked the nurse 3 times and she said all 3 times it holds 12 cc.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
