I am 13 months post-op and got a positive pregnancy test today. I am really worried that I am going to gain so much weight back and never be able to lose it after working so hard these last 13 months. I have yet to tell the guy I am seeing about it too, because I am not sure how to approach it and tell him. I am mainly worried about gaining all my weight back and really don’t want to :( anyone out there that has been thru this and can help me feel better about this? :(

I haven’t been in your situation - but when I was pregnant (18+ years ago) I was 245lbs when I found out and gained only about 25lbs. Ten days after I had my son I weighed what I weighed when I got pregnant and was in my pre-pregnancy jeans! You DO NOT have to go crazy and gain tons of weight! Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS! Babies are a blessing!! ❤️❤️

i also haven't been through this, but call your NUT. S/he should be able to guide you through a healthy pregnancy for both you and the baby. S/he'll help you figure out how to eat healthy meals while providing enough nutrition for both of you while not overeating. Good luck and congrats!

And with healthy meals, my bariatric Vitamins and a Good Doctor to guide me, I actually lost weight my last 2 pregnancies and had a 9 pound bouncing baby boy both times. It can be done, do what is best for you and that previous new life you carry. Your baby has a lot of God-Aunts and God-Uncles out here cheering You and Baby on!

First things first: congratulations!!!! Next, call your doctor and discuss your concerns. Yes, you’ll gain weight, you are building a life within you and that life will eventually develop their own organs and bones while in there. That’s the miracle of the female body. Look at those wonders and the gain as positive vs before when your increase scale numbers were a result of poor eating choices. If anything, make sure you have the proper nutrition to limit the drain from your own body. Congratulations!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
