Threw up for first time since surgery!

Recommended Posts

Oh goodness. I am 12 weeks post-op. Threw up for the first time since surgery. I ate a little bit of meatloaf. Then, I had some soft broccoli, and then a few bites of mashed potatoes. Oh no no no!!!! I couldn’t burp, and then all of a sudden I started salivating. Truly the worst feeling ever! However one little barf, and I was good 😂😂😂 I seriously need to learn to eat slower!

that's my problems I scarf food down. I haven't lost my meals yet, but I do feel that stuck in my throat but wait for that burp feeling. Sometimes I don't think it will come and I will vomit, but I burp and I'm fine. I'm sorry you experienced this, but at least this was a learning experience for you.

Been there, done that....

'The slimes' ahh remember it well! You will get the hang of eating a couple ounces and.....waiting. Now I stop before I am full....and about five minutes later I get the hiccups...it used to be a runny nose, sneezing and hiccups.... We all get better at gauging how many bites, be careful with some meats - I still can't tolerate chicken breast, too dry - I eat thighs.

And lettuce - I can handle just a little lettuce now. I make salad w spinach, cucumber, a little radish and slice of Tomato - but it was months down the road before that stayed down. I still am iffy with chocolate because sf chocolate pudding made me barf after surgery....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
