How much do you think you have lost? 140 is a lot to not feel like you have lost that much. Do you think you lost more or less?

I havn't lost that amount of weight but I did feel like that a couple of weeks back. Now I see it but still don't feel it. My problem is my back along with hip and knee pain. The weight loss has relieved some lower back pain but neck and mid back pain limit me. What was your weight going into surgery? You've done great so far but curious what you started at that makes 140lbs of loss not noticeable. CONGRATS btw!!!!!!

People tend to forget or just not realize weight loss is not only a physical change but a mental. Your body has changed faster than your brain has had time to process. That's why photos are always a huge help to help with mental growth. When our minds don't follow our weight loss progress it has been known to slow progress and sometimes cause regression in weight gain. Don't let this happen to you.

Losing 140lbs in four months is a lot of weight and I'm sure any psychologist would tell you that your mind has to catch up to your body.

I can tell you from a personal experience, the scale means everything to me for psychological reasons. So for me the scale doesn't move, but my clothing sizes do and because I can't see the weight change, I have failed in the past (prior to wls) because of this.

Take your time, don't be in a rush to lose the weight and allow your mind and body to change together. You'll find in the long run it's much easier and healthier.

But CONGRATS on the huge weightloss, that's amazing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
