DS and vitamins and biotin?

Recommended Posts

Hey y'all, just wondering what everyone takes as in Vitamins after DS. I am 6 months post op [emoji4]
I am on 3 Multi Vitamins a day, an extra 45 mg of Iron pill, and 1800 mg of Calcium ( 4 chews a day) I also take a biotin... any idea what a good dose of Biotin should be ?
The Bariatric Advantage has a High ADEK Multi that is specifically for DS patients. You only have to take 2 capsules a day. I also take 45mg Iron and 1800mg Calcium. My bloodwork at 6 months out was perfect with this Vitamin regimen. 1540413833547.jpeg 1540413864719.jpeg

You only have to take them separately when you supplement them along with multis. Multis are ok. I’m just referring to when you have to additionally supplement .

You can take them with other Vitamins (at the same time) but they can’t come in one pill (eg a combo Vit A and D pill)

Not unless and until your blood results say you need additional supplementation. I take 2 Multis a day. But I also take 35-40 other Vitamins and minerals as my blood work shows I’m malabsorbing them and need to supplement.

Thanks for you input ! I really appreciate it... I'm only 6 -7 months out and I need to go in this month for my 6 month blood work ... then I should know how everything is going with that. :)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
