Feeling discouraged by trying soft foods. eggs and tuna, were my go-to but every time I eat them I have to lay down for 30 minutes. I don’t enjoy cottage cheese, but enjoy yogurt and some fruits... but none of this is Protein.

So I’m going back to my blender... this is still my first 4 days of soft foods but I’m feeling discouraged. I’m sipping a homemade smoothie currently and feeling much better. Any other ideas?

At least, you do feel better, I just upchuck and keep on. I am giving up until my EGD next Friday, I feel I may have a stricture, lets liquids through but nothing thicker. And I am 31 days out from my September 5th bypass surgery. I just hope I can get relief and move up to Stage 3 and then on back to normalcy.😪🙊🙉🙈🐵

Like many other people here, eggs were really hard for me, no matter how I did them. Still not great, to be honest. tuna was tough too - it is a bit dry. It gets easier but don’t stress - there are options.

Yoghurt is Protein, and there are high-protein yoghurts available too.

Cottage cheese is worth persevering with. I don’t care for it but it is delicious savoury - add chipotle, or Sriracha, or a bit of chilli flakes. Or have it sweet - add mushed banana, apple sauce, pineapple purée, berries (strained). I really got to love my different flavours of cottage cheese in soft food stage!

Steam a bit of fresh fish and mush it. Much easier than tuna from a pouch. My surgeon had me eating that from day 2.

Hummus. Feta whip. Mashed edamame Beans with a bit of mayo - yum. All high protein...

Remember: This stage, too, shall pass...

I started buying tuna creations flavored and add tsp. of dressing to add a little extra creaminess. cottage cheese, has been my saviour, but regular cottage cheese provides the most comforting sensation. Try ricotta add seasonings.
BP store and Amazon have some great tasting Protein puddings. WonderSlim chocolate caramel... great as a shake or pudding.
have you tried pureed chili? one of these posts has my recipe for Hungarian zucchini stew and would add unflavored Protein Powder. super soft, but can also be pureed. cheese sticks, and deli turkey roll ups. high protein and soft

I love reading about your food creations, really I do, I just get whimsical wondering if it will ever happen for me? This March on the Stage 2 road is becoming very wearisome..💦😪

The transition from liquids to pureed food to solid foods can be difficult. There is no need to rush things. Just take your time with these transitions.

Thank you so much @James Marusek. I need to remember to take it slow and that the speed of my dieticians is not necessarily the speed of my sleeve.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
