Recommended Posts

How long is everyone’s preop diet? My dr only requires 1 week of liquids for preop. I start that oct 1.
I have to do a 2 week liver shrinking diet for pre-op. Thankful I'm not doing liquid only diet.

Soooooo I posted before and my surgery was supposed to be 10/15. My doctors office called me today and asked if I wanted to push it up to 10/1....UMMMM yes!!!! But I thought I would have time to mentally prepare for the two week pre op liquid diet. Nope....starting tomorrow pray for me!!!!!
I'd love it my doctor's office called and asked if I wanted to move my date up!! The waiting is the worst!

That's a problem November. is going to have. Nobody has started a November 2018 one, I dont,if they plan to,piggyback on 2017's or establish their own÷🌻
I’m a November friend... but it’s a little far out to start a thread. Most of us are just going through the final weigh-in, insurance rig-a-ma-ro... we will be there with all of you super soon!!! 😃

October 15th seems to be a popular date! :778_heartbeat: My date as well. My 2 week pre-op diet starts on Monday October 1st!!! I have already cut back on the caffeine and carbonation so it won't be such a shock. I really like the premiere Protein Shakes, so I bought a case of each flavor from Sam's Club. I also found their clear Protein Drinks to be tasty as well. The flavor is a tad bit strong for my taste, so I have to dilute it. I'm excited to start my pre op diet because that means this is actually happening! It has been almost a year and a half since my first appointment with my bariatric surgeon, and now I'm down to less than a month before surgery!! SOOOOO READDDYYYY!!!!!

mine is October 1st and I am super excited and worried at the same time. I have 1199 insurance and my doctor's office still has no approval on file. I reached out but haven't heard anything yet

I finally got my surgery date yesterday. I am having the gastric bypass on Oct. 15th. After I got the date, I instantly felt sick to my stomach....which I knew it was only my nerves..lol... I am so excited. I started the process last October, got approved for the sleeve August 9th. Then my Dr recommended the bypass due to GERD... Got the approval for the bypass on Sept 17th. I go for a protesting appt and dietician appt on Oct 2nd.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
