Hunger after sleeve...

Recommended Posts

Hi! I was sleeved on Friday (8/17/18). I am just so hungry. However, I am craving like chicken breast and brown rice! I would do anything for real food! Tomorrow I get to start pudding and creamed soups! I am so very excited. Hopefully once I start eating normal food, I will no longer feel this weird sense of hunger. Anyone else feel this way? Am I just missing solids?

That's a major myth that needs to go away, the whole "get the surgery and never feel hungry"... some folks are lucky, and it doesn't go away, but most... either never lose it, or it comes back within a year.

But, Yes when you start getting into the thicker foods, they'll hang around longer making you feel full longer.

Once you start eating real food again, you won't be as hungry! Hunger still does happen, but not like it used to.

I felt hunger after a week, although I think it was in my mind more than anything. 1 week to go until I go to puree, actually kinda nervous about that, I hope I don't gain.

I did NOT have the experience of "no ghrelin=no hunger." I have been hungry all along. But it did get better when I began eating solid foods.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
