I put an order for roasted almonds on Amazon and wanted to ask if it is ok to eat almonds and other nuts?

What's your nutritionist say about it? Where you cleared for all foods yet? If so, then go for it. For me, at the 2 month mark I was given the go ahead to "try whatever I wanted and if I didn't have an issue with it, I could eat it".

I see the nutritionist on August 2. I was cleared to eat what I want. I just wanted to make sure that my stomach can process nuts. I guess I will need to chew them very well.

At that stage I ate nuts, cashews helped with Constipation, but I ate raw almonds as well.

If you are cleared to try them then no problem, keep in mind some have additives that boost the already high calorie food. They also *may* be a slider food for you, so carefully track the intake of nuts or you'll be wondering why the scale is not moving

I started eating nuts at 8 weeks with no problem. I know they can be a slider food for some but they definitely aren't for me. Just be careful how many you eat the first time to see how your sleeve handles it. They fill me up very quickly.

I am also two months and two weeks post op and I have had pistachios and peanuts with no issues. Just chew them very well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
