I would live to visit but I won't bring my 2 cats, that would only complicate matters. ❤You both, you are like my bari-sisters and I enjoy your posts.😛🌴😛👍❤

I have 3 rescue cats, 7 rescue dogs and a barrage of birds that live on this property. Doves, yellow breast, sparrow and finches. They have nests all over and I get to see the babies hatch, develop and then fly the coup

This photo is the latest set of Doves that are on my front porch hanging plant. Mum and 2 babies

@Bajansleeve. I dragged the photo onto my desktop for a closer look from the neck down. It's hard to believe that your doctor had surgery. Won't it be great when someone says the same about us? "You had weight-loss surgery? I never would have guessed. You're just so slim and trim."

@BajanSleeve All I have is a baby-killer possum living under my front-door steps. She's killed three seasons of baby red birds in my bushes. I finally had the bushes pruned down so they wouldn't nest there anymore.

I have two dogs that love to eat birds. And its such a stress because I have a fenced off area where the dogs live but there is a big tree right over their pen full of birds nests and the babies regularly fall out or when they are learning to fly fall prey to the dogs. Then the ones that nest on my patio, when the babies are fledglings learning to fly they go and fly over the fence and boom, they become Scobie Snacks :(

When my youngest son was a toddler, he saw a sparrow-hawk grab a small baby bird in our backyard. I thought it would be a disturbing moment for him, but he just turned to me and said, "Look. That big bird is giving that little bird a ride!"

I had this surgery for entirely metabolic reasons. I was also overweight but my reason for checking out the surgery was for health. I was diagnosed last May with chronic kidney disease with a GFR then of 28. I was told dialysis was 2 yrs or less away for me. I also had diabetes and high blood pressure. I had a stroke when I was 50. After my kidney diagnoses researched my options and found UPMC in Pittsburgh was promoting Bariatric surgery as a way to improve or cure all the reasons I needed the surgery. Fast forward to April 27, 2018 and I had my gastric bypass at UPMC. I just had my checkup with my kidney specialist and my GfR is now 87. He says it should improve further but he considers me technically cured of my CKD. My diabetes is in remission always in the normal ranges and my BP is normal. Thanks to this operation I have a bright future!

Thanks! Even though my weight loss is currently stalled the health benefits are way worth it. I am ok if my weight stays where it is as long as I do not regain and my health issues are resolved.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
