Emotional Babble

Recommended Posts

Hello to all - Okay here is my babble for the day. I was banded in February and to date have lost 46 lbs. However, from July to now, it has been a real struggle finding the right fill. I have gone from some how losing all my fill to being too tight and just about vomiting a lung. I am very pleased with the way that I am beginning to look and the way my clothes are fitting. However, I know that I am still far from my goal. Of course the upcoming holidays raise the only ugly fears - should I loosen the fill, should I maintain the fill and just have to be very very careful????? Oh, the debate with my mind!!!! I am currently at a 1.8 cc and unless I stay on Soups and very soft food, nothing stays down and I really don't lose weight. If I try solids (meat, chicken not pureed), up it comes!!! So I am thinking I am a little tight. But I want to keep the weight loss going. Today I was so stressed, that I ate an entire bag of chips (not the small kind either) and a bag of M&M's (the small bag). I guess my question comes down to, I'm sure that there are many people who have gone through this and struggled with these same questions. Any advice, kind words, kicks in my butt to get my over this?

Best,

Debbie

Well, you kind of said it yourself. You want to keep the weight loss going, but you ate a bag of chips. You're better off getting an unfill and eating solid meat n' stuff.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
