60lbs down and loving the attention

Recommended Posts

I would be lying if I said I didn't like it. I am trying to not let it go to my head. I am liking what I see in the mirror. My confidence is better than it has ever been. I suddenly have friends coming out of the woodwork and my schedule is always full. I have energy and I am active and alive again. I feel like I have been given a second chance at life. I am using every spare moment to try new things and embrace all of the wonderful things I couldn't before. Sex is better than ever and my labido is off the charts these days. I only have 34lbs left to hit my goal weight and I am not yet 6 months out from surgery. If you are on the fence about this surgery it is so worth it. The food will get replaced with things far better and the pain at first really isn't that bad. Don't let fear keep you from being happy.

If you're this happy now, I can't wait to read your post once you reach your goal weight.

It's always inspiring to hear about how someone's life has changed for the good... or in your case ... the GREAT!

I do wonder about the statement, "I suddenly have friends coming out of the woodwork..." Are these new friends or friends you already had but who didn't really begin to notice you until you lost 60lbs? (If it's the latter, I'm inclined to question the meaning of the word "friends".)

Wow. I can relate... to locking myself in the house and not mingling with others.

You go girl! Love reading this. So encouraging! May I ask what your stats are/were? Where you began in weight, your height, etc.? How's loose skin? How far post-op you are? I've yo-yo'd all my life and LOVE life thinner. I can't wait to be back to where you are now. You're so right about "the food will get replaced with things far better".... Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
