Frustrating, depressing, sad....

Recommended Posts

You carried a child in your womb for 9 months. You experienced extreme nausea, had a painful labor and ended up with a c-section. You gained a lot of weight and wasn't able to go back to your old size. You tried to diet, did a little exercise but wasn't able to lose even a single pound. You are very eager and willing to go back to work but your boss told you that you need to lose more weight first before you can proceed and face your clients. How would you feel about all these?! It's so frustrating, depressing, sad...name it! How will you overcome all these?

Oh wow, I can’t even imagine what you have been through. Your boss has no right to stop you from going back to work because you gained weight it might even be illegal? I’m so sorry for your loss. Maybe someone else can give you some guidance who is familiar with employee rights in your area?
Good luck to you.

I'm with others. Your work situation does not sound legal.

I agree with Creek. Talk to an attorney, it’s absurd and sounds like workplace harassment.

Who are you talking about? Your profile says you are a male and have happy father's day notices on your activity.

Wow! Is your boss from the 1960?

I cannot think of a single job, outside a Hollywood movie super hero role, where weight would be relevant.

id get it in writing and go to HR, fair work (if that exists in your country or state) the union and a lawyer.

Sue them out of existence. This is illegal!

Notice he didn’t say “I” maybe it happened to his wife. It’s not exactly WLS topic. I’m guessing he’s just getting a general consensus

Whereas this sucks. Sadly, weight discrimination is *NOT* a protected class in the US.

So, unless you live in Michigan, EEO and Discrimination laws do not protect use from weight discrimination.

Sorry for not getting back immediately. I started recently with my online counseling at BetterHelp . Our HR Manager who is a psychologist too recommended this idea to me because she's already seeing from me some signs of depression. So to help feel better and regain the confidence, I decided to go for it.

I am by the way in the Sales & Marketing. Physical appearance does really matter in my job. So while waiting to lose some pounds, my boss assigned me to back-office and online sales. I didn't lose my job but they temporarily gave a different work assignment. Sorry if I overreacted. I just love my job...I love meeting new people and achieving the sales target.

Sorry for causing confusion.

My hubby knew about my problem and offered me if I want to ask for advice on this forum.

Yes I do know that Michigan is v the only state that doesn't condone, weight discrimination( Are YOU listening Ohio General Assembly?) so I guess Mr Boss can get away with his benighted attitude, but doesn't any " non-average" people buy his product? We should be equally respected whether we weigh,98 or 298 pounds. How would he like to be judged that way by his Boss? And if he doesn't have a boss, the American public should be. A heavy person money should be equal to a supermodel bordering on emaciation! Ooh don't it make my red, hair start to blaze!📛

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
