I wonder if Dr Needleman will give me any pictures of my innards? Do you suppose if I act very sweetly and ask politely he would? I have pictures of the different stages of my 2 EGD, I'm going to ask. Please Please? I don't care if the whole 🌎 thinks I'm a little off-beat, I think they would be neat to have!📃

That's ok, hon. We all think you're a little off-beat, but we love ya anyway! :780_sparkling_heart: Or maybe because of it?

I had very very little pain post op. Someone asked me if I felt like there was a 'void' where they took out the stomach. that made me laugh actually. kind of makes sense that I would, but nope. anyways. I KNOW it's a smaller 'eating' stomach because a few bites of something and i'm full. instead of a normal sized dinner plate, I have a teacup saucer that I eat off of. and cant always finish what I put on it.

LOL! I thought I was the only one getting souvenir pictures! Glad to know I am not the only one with an odd surgeon.

Omg 😮 I thought I was the only one ; I was sleeved on 5/31 and I’m about 80-90% healed and I cannot believe I’m sleeved. I’ve moved on to solid foods and then the fact that I’m sleeved comes in ; solid foods fills me up so quickly two bite of chicken , tuna , anything more I’m dumping and throwing it up. I wasn’t informed that dumping was part of the sleeve am I doing something wrong !

This is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I wish my abdomen could be see through for a moment so I could just see what's up in there.

I feel this way too, it has been difficult for me to know when its hunger or just "wanting". My brain is still the big girl I was when surgery took place, wanting to eat all the things that taste good, just because they taste good and I didn't feel "full", so why not? But I learned my lesson, the quick eating, the over eating, only took me two times to see how much it SUCKS! Running to the bathroom to throw up has happened to me twice, all because I ate too much too fast and my stomach could not handle it. Of course something that I was told would/could happen. Though I have fixed that, I fee like, sometimes I see things that I still just want to eat, does that ever go away? Will I always just have to tell myself "no, you dont need it"?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
