Stall a complete week and this week

Recommended Posts

I haven’t lost a pound in the last week and two days! I’m on week 5 eating soft foods and can eat high Protein meat! I have lost 35-37 pounds and 21 inches over the last 6 weeks... that’s 2 weeks pre opt and 4 weeks post. Suggestions? Comments? So frustrated and discouraged

start with some meditation. Followed by deep breathing exercises.

I am not making fun of what you are going thru just trying to get you to relax and step back a little.

Follow your program - completely - The weight will start to come off again.

At this point i would very much recommend you stop weighing yourself daily. Switch to once per week and stop the daily mental torture that is the scale.

Please read the ongoing post about NSV (non scale victories) there will be times in this process that all you can hold on to are the NSV. Don't look down on all the great things changing in your life as you go forward instead hold these little wins close to your heart and let them carry you till the weight loss returns.

good luck and grats on the great progress you have made to date

It will pass, and when you look back you will feel it was only a tiny bump,in the roadway of life.

Truthfully you're doing great..that's a lot of weight you've lost within 2 months. Stalls are normal, after the stall breaks itself normally you will have dropped 5 pounds out of no where...it happened to me recently...I'm 4 months out, had 3 week stall then all of a sudden I lost like 6 pounds. So dont get discouraged the weight will continue to drop. Look how far you've come and the huge amount of inches you've lost...rejoice in the non scale victories as advised

Your weight loss is GREAT!

I weigh daily, and it works for me. My first stall freaked me out, but now I see there is a rhythm to them, so I am less bothered. By the way, for long-term keeping it off, daily weighing is strongly correlated with keeping weight off.

Also - I often find I suddenly drop a size in top or pants while I am in a stall - which makes them SO much easier to bear!

Stalls suck. They're frustrating, demoralizing and just plain depressing. But they're also completely normal and they will pass. Stick to your program. Be consistent. It'll be ok:)

I was stalled for three weeks once. Didn't change anything, and the next week I lost 6 pounds.

Bodies are weird. Stalls and plateaus happen. Stay the course!

You didn't mention how your Water intake was going. That's a very critical part of the weight loss equation. And as those that follow know, I tell everyone not to focus strictly on weight, it's only 1 part of the whole picture! Your body fat could be decreasing and you could not lose or even gain weight. Your body will stall when it needs to re-calibrate, so any changes to food intake could trigger one.

As long as you are under your calorie max, over your Protein minimum and over your water minimum. And you are actually getting in some real exercise (not whatever you do all day at work or normally, you need to get some EXTRA actual exercise in) then you'll be fine.

Just keep to those requirements!
You got this!

I'm 6+ weeks out. I'm dealing with bad nausea for 2 weeks now. So I've stalled for about 6 days and I'm total lost maybe 3 in ² weeks. I also had the dreaded 3 week stall for about 5-6 days. I'm annoyed because its cutting into my "honeymoon" period! But right now i! I'm having a hard time eating or drinking. But I've lost 39 pounds from my last post op visit until now (8 weeks)

I’ve been in a stall for about two weeks now and I’m four weeks post op. I’ve lost 25 lbs total so far and I’m eating soft foods. I’m struggling to get my Water intake during the day so I’m trying to hold myself accountable by writing it out in a journal. I still can’t work out due to an infection i had and the wound is still healing so I’m in a funk about it so I’m kinda stuck right now and I’m struggling mentally with that

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
