Looking for advice for parties

Recommended Posts

I have a birthday party that I have to go to tonight. Anyway I don’t wanna drink alcohol as I’m only one month out, I can’t drink juice due to sugar, and I’m worried anything with bubbles will hurt.
I don’t want a bunch of questions and why I’m only drinking Water.
What can I drink that looks like a normal drink that I will be able to tolerate. I was hoping for a non-alcohol, non frizzy, non sugar drink. Does a drink like this even exist?
Please help guys I have no one else to turn too?
I’m so anxious about tonight.

Just tell everyone you are the designated driver! No worries because you are being safety minded. I used to carry around a glass of white wine. Didn't drink it, just carried it around.

Is it at a bar? If so you could ask barman to pop some fresh lime and maybe mint in a glass Water. People that push you to drink may assume you're having a vodka lime soda or mojito then.

What about Water with some Crystal Light or Mio flavoring? It'll be a color that could indicate just about anything in terms of a mixed drink . . .?

The above posts have it right. nobody needs to know that the drink in your hand is Water. Mio bottles are real tiny you could carry that around easy or just keep lemon or lime piece in glass. If your with date/spouse go with DD bit otherwise you might have drive some drunk home (lol)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
