The smells of the leaves, the colors of them, the crunch of the leaves under your feet, the cooler temps...I could go on and on but I won't. I do miss snow. I am origanally from Ohio. I just want 1 good snow fall per yr. here. Last measurable snow we had was 7or8 yrs ago maybe longer. Just give us 5" or more. Preferably @ Christmas time. Is that too much to ask? LOLsig.jsp?pc=[object Object]&pp=ZRxdm609NVUS

i love your fall colored faces....my absolute FAVORITE time of year. such a treat after months of 100 degree days. orginally from NYC & really don't miss snow at all. seems fall last a long time in TX :rolleyes2:

I too love the fall colors, and the crunching leaves, and the smell of burning leaves, and so on...but sadly, I also am aware of what's coming soon after.

And please send me your addess - I think I could send some snow your way...5"? I can do better than that!!!

Thats one of the things I don't like about Florida, there really isn't much difference between summer and fall. DH and I usually take a road trip up to North Carolina in October to see the beautiful changing leaves though. We always look forward to that.

Just posting to ask, what are donkeys good for? My DH and I saw some yesterday and I asked that question, he says "nothing", I said that everyone and everything was put here for a purpose. Do you all concur?

Me too Susan. I specifically got married in the fall to Celebrate my anniversary in the mountains I love it so much. We haven't been one year though - we end up going to the beach (closer and cheaper). Of course DH grumbles there is no one there (ah-hum no bikini half naked girls) in the fall. He wants to know why I didn't pick summer. Deductive reasoning - I'm brilliant!

Gives me a good comparison and character reference when DH is being less than his normal charming self. Stubborn, Stink, Loud and Stubbourn. Yep that pretty much covers it - well other than stink...DH actually smells pretty great.

Susan---so glad to hear your slip repaired itself!!!

Mine was not so easy----took some surgical intervention. My biggest issue was not the band but I had a twisted/kinked intestine. Then due to that when I got sick, I ended up with what he referred to as a very mild prolapse, but no sign of slippage. He said my band was seated in excellent placement. So, now liquids while the intestinal issue heals, and then I am good to go again.

I still of course have no fill. BUT.....I DO have a band and I was worried about that!!!

Glad yours is good too!!!

Kat

there IS a purpose for donkeys. they are EXCELLENT at keeping coyottes from your cattle/livestock. don't know why, don't know how - but they're kick can send a pack out of your pasture. we have been talking about getting a pair to keep the longhorns safe - cause we have a LOT of coyotte dens around the ranch.....

kat - glad your band is still in tact!!!

They're pack animals and miners use them to hunt for gold. They also make the wildest noises. Wish I could have one.

Well, I will sure tell DH that. I knew they had to have a purpose.

Sunshine, where I live people (DH says) are trying to give them away.

Well, we made (or almost) it through another day. Just posting to be posting.................

Agree....They're very smart, and good "guard" animals for pack critters. Sometimes they get kinda standoffish if you put them in w/ horses....I think there's a little rivalry going on there...

What are donkeys good for? I bet Shrek could answer that question for you.

Kat, I am so sorry to hear you had to have surgery to correct your issues, but am happy you got to keep your band. I hope you are back to 100% soon!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
