I don't even know what the point of having the friends thing on our profile. I mean it's great to have friends and everything, but what is the purpose of having them listed? It seems a little on the strange side to me.

AthinnerDenise,

I know what you mean I'm far from my "homeland" too! But now I've come to terms with it, I think. I don't have grandchildren yet, knock on wood, they're still in college but I'm sure I'd be like that too if/when I do take care, brandyII. My mom was born and raise in ChiTown.

You know, you can just call me Denise:biggrin:

Where is your homeland? Chicago is a great place to visit but I sure don't miss those winters. The entire reason I moved here was because I never wanted to see snow again. It has snowed here 4 times in the 35 years I have lived here.

Thanks Denise,

It's is a chore to type that many letters, I'm was raised in MD right outside of DC. My mother moved to DC from Chicago with her mother and brother where she met my father. Hence meeeeee

The first few snows of the season are nice but by February everyone goes crazy!!!

Ok ya all. AM I obligated to "accept" friends on here? Just wondering. I have random people asking...lol...

BBK, I've had a few people I've never even spoken to send friendship request. I didn't want anyone to get offended so I accepted, lol....but I have no clue who they are. I dunno....strange???

I hate snow. 4 times in 35 years that I have lived here is even too much. I would be happy if I never saw it again. Snow means cold, and I hate cold too!

The last time I visited the Oregon Coast, my son accidentally fell into the ocean.

Ya know....if you ladies would just accept my repeated "friendship requests", it would make stalking all of you a lot easier. I'm just saying....

Friends are hard work...I keep a close knit group (since high school) but new friends are as much effort as a new bf/gf.

I'm not sure if I'm cold-hearted or aloof, but sometimes I just don't wanna put forth that effort.

I thought I was your friend....but what do I know....I am having a bad week.

Even my OWN mother "forgot" to invite me to my own dad's surprise birthday. What was the surprise that he really isn't my dad?? lol....

Oh, no! I'm sorry BBK! Did you miss it entirely, or find out from someone else?

I had my friends and family forget my b-day last year. I had to invite them to dinner, and when they asked why I said it was my b-day. Then they tried to play it off.

Yeah...right.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
