Mot a great start to the New Year....DH and I are both sick, and I cannot sleep.....However, I do know it could be a lot worse.....and with being unable to sleep, I DID see the New Year in!!!

Scared the crap outta me! Someone nearby set off firecrackers, and my dog landed on me when I was not expecting him....little chicken!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone, lets make it a great 2009!!!

bed rest officially starts tomorrow, due date Feb 13th.

Aawww! Here's hoping your bed rest does the trick!

PJTP: Heading to the airport to pick up DD and meet my grandbaby!!! Bye!

That is wonderful! I hope you are having a wonderful visit!

How is everyone's New Years Eve/first day of 2009 going?

I had a nice time last night except for totally falling off the wagon! Not just falling off but actually dragged behind it for a good five miles! I ate enough chips & dip and drank enough wine to hold me over until next year!

happy new yr~

sorry kat your not feeling so hot, i think i've just shaken the crud and passed it to DH. he started feeling crappy last night, but it didn't stop him from shooting fireworks as well.

it was a dueling of fireworks for about 40mins between our place and the ranch next to us. they have a bunch of teenage boys and they were having a GOOD time....our dogs can't stand the noise as well, which is sad because 2 are bird hunting dogs...LOL

all the best for a great '09!!!!

Ok, no way I am reading 23 pages to catch up. Hope everyone had a great New Years Eve. DW, DD and I went over to some friends house from church and had a get together. Lots of fun. Made it just past midnight and then off to home to bed and up at 0630 to get to work.

Yeah, my german shepherd HATES fireworks and thunderstorms. Must be the reason why St Paul PD gave up on him as a K-9 cop for them. Plus, he is kind of a wussy, won't wrestle with me. Oh well, he gets aggressive when he needs to protect DD or DW and that is the important thing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
