Greetings, I am getting the DS and ohh so excited, I had the sleeve and had weight gain now I am close to my original starting weight, I started the process of DS a few months ago with the intention of sleeve revision or gastric bypass, and my surgeon discussed my options and DS it is! So good people of this forum, I am seeking advice, pearls of wisdom, any info you care to share. I am an RN and have researched all the data, pros and cons, now I want to listen to those who have experienced the surgery and their story. Thanks a million

As long as it's someone who is experienced in the DS you should be good to go.

hello Diva302, I had pains the first week. just very hard to get up , but I walk as much as I could . No drains. the laparoscopic incisions were vey small and practically are gone now :) I am on puree foods but not hungry at all. I go to soft food class tomorrow and see what else I can eat. The liquids sucked but it was all part of it to deal with. Not only did I have the Duodenal switch but I had my gall bladder removed and a hiatal hernia repaired. so three operations were done that day and that could be why I am was extra sore.

You will do fine! Its all worth it!!! I wish for you a speedy recovery! let me know if you have any more questions

How can a bowel movement make me lose almost 4 pounds? How much poo am I full of?

I haven't pooped in a weed and I'd love a 4 pound poo right now lol

Lol, yeah, I've been known to drop 3-ish lbs after a good (and long awaited) poop.

.....or even after a moderate to severe dumping episode. yikes.

Those are championship cups for both you guys! :) I personally came up a 1.4lb winner this morning. ;) hehehehe.

I met with my surgeon on Friday.. I've completed all my tests and all my nutrition meetings as well as meeting the weight loss requirements for my insurance. We are officially submitting to insurance for approval and I was given a surgery date of January 16th 2020 (13 days before my birthday!) Fingers crossed all goes through

Ok, now im getting old...my body gets me up at my normal 5am dog walk even when it's the weekend, vacation, and most importantly when I'm sick. So now that I have more energy, my body wants to make sure I suffer even longer during the day when I have a cold! Damn being healthy again! (:D)
