Everything is going well - but today I experienced something I hadn't before, so thought I would share here for any input from others who may have experienced the same thing.

I am very diligent about eating my 3 meals per day, drinking my 64 ounces of Water per day, and not drinking 10 minutes before, during, or 30 minutes after my meals.

However, today I literally had to force myself to go get lunch. I grabbed a bit of hummus and a few crispy crackers and tried to eat some. But after literally 2-3 very small nibbles, I couldn't eat anything.

I felt as if I would make myself sick if I tried to eat anything.

So I threw it away - and went for a 30 minute walk. The full feeling has passed and I am back to drinking my water, but because I'm consuming so few calories at this point (450-550 per day) it does concern me that I didn't get my typical lunch in.

Anyone else have experience with this?

I'm not experiencing any blockage or anything - I have been having regular bowel movements - and other than not being able to eat I feel perfectly fine.

Thanks for any advice you may have :)

Roxine

I think we all have these days. I just make sure to get my liquids in and to make sure I at least meet my Protein minimum with Protein Drinks or powders.

A lot of peeps have issues with a "sticky" pouch in the mornings. I've read that warm tea or even warm Water will sometimes help relax your sleeve so you can eat? I also know that being well-hydrated will determine (partially) how easily food will be accepted and go down your anatomy.

I feel this way a lot of the times about liquid. My stomach is super sensitive about drinks. I cannot drink straight water and it's been a struggle to find things that don't make me nauseous. Nonetheless, I think its completely normal feelings to have on an occasional basis. We are used to eating when we aren't hungry, or if we had to, actually forcing ourselves. Now that we are post op, our stomachs are more sensitive and our minds are too. I wouldn't worry too much unless it happens more frequently.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
