Am I On Track With my Weight Loss?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I had gastric bypass done on 02/01, and as of this morning I have lost 47 lbs so far, does it seem like I am on track with what should be expected from this?

I know I am being overly paranoid about this, but I am just a worrier by nature. I do as much as I can to make sure I am successful at losing weight, I stick to the diet they tell me, exercise, take my Vitamins, etc. But on days where I weight myself and see the scale has only gone down a tiny bit, well it makes me start to worry!

I don't think anyone would be unhappy about losing nearly fifty pounds in under two months.

Like I said, I know I am worrying waaaay to much about this, it's just nice to hear a little positive affirmation from other people who have gone through it. [emoji1]

You are absolutely crushing it. So much so that I would warn you not to feel disheartened if you hit a stall or a plateau in the coming months, because that level of weight loss is hard to maintain even if you are doing everything right.

Ok, thank you that is nice to hear! [emoji1]

For the first time in my life I am dead serious about getting healthy and I want this to work and am doing everything I can. Since I finally care about it I just worry that my best efforts may not be enough!

Word!

Apparently my fat ass didn't quite "get" the memo about the quick and humongous results. I think it may be a reading comprehension thing--ever since I had the surgery removing my head from my ass, my ass has become very very dumb... ;)

I have a feeling I’ll be a lot like you fluffy in the aspect of losing slowly. My body does NOT like to lose weight.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
