So today Im 5 days post op. I can’t really bend and have to move slowly because one of the incisions is causing alot of pain but it has gotten better. Today i weighed myself and I lost 18 lbs in 5 days! Im really in shock and cannot believe it. My rings no longer fit me. Im drinking 2 shakes a day trying to do 3. Drinking lots of Water and I eat chicken broth once a day. I have Jello but only really ate it one time. I also have been having sugar free popsicles which have helped me with nausea ( no more than 2). I feel good so far I feared that because of the lack of calories i would be weak but surprisingly I get up early and have lots of energy! I can’t wait to start going to the gym!! I have been having alot of cravings of even stuff i wouldn’t eat before. I think once i can eat food i would be good in making the healthier choices but being around food and seeing food when you cant eat it boyyyyy it is a test! But, seeing the scale today has kelt me motivated and I will not ruin this! P.s What did you guys eat/drink your first two weeks??

Just Protein Shakes. Drank some Pho broth. That was amazing. I couldn't do the broth like beef or chicken. It was to plain for me. Averaged about 60 to 80 grams of Protein a day.

Yes. The one by my house is amazing. It changed everything for me. It was my dinner for a week. Lol. Now in suppose to be on purred foods but everything has been going great so I'm doing soft foods. My next apt is on Friday. So I hope he doesn't get to mad at me. I've done what everyone said. Dont push it and pay attention to ur stomach which I do.

Congrats!

Today is Day 6 post-op for me. I'm doing great. No/little pain, able to bend and squat, am walking every day. I eat Protein Shakes, liquidy yogurt, broths. I'm getting in about 74g Protein, 20-25g carbs, and around 400-450 cals per day. I'll have 1 sf Jello, and 2 servings of broth, sometimes 4oz of V8 with lime and celery salt. Pho broth sounds delish! I'm doing fine on my liquids...but I'm very ready to have purees! I have no problems swallowing--even big swallows. I see the doc on Thursday, but I bet I have to continue until Tuesday a week before I get to progress to purees.

Day 8 for me. I can have Gatorade so I drink 12 oz of that a day. I do 16 oz of broth a day with two scoops of Unjury chicken flavor Protein Powder (42 oz of protein). I drink one Muscle Milk pro a day which is 32 oz of Protein. And Water.

Am losing about a pound a day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
