Morning Protein

Recommended Posts

So glad to help. I like the Mocha Java and Cappuccino is my favorite; the vanilla nut and the hazelnut are ok, but not my total fave. Whichever which one you get, though, is better than that wallpaper paste stuff...I buy the stuff by the case b/c I am pretty tight in the morning; two of those, the gym, and a Apex fruit fuel bar are pretty much my whole food intake til about one or so....

Carnation Instant Breakfast was the best for me I added 1/4 cup of non fat powdered milk to boost the Protein, you can aslo add some Peanut Butter to the chocolate and some cinnamon to the vanilla. I too am not a breakfast person and never will be .My doc told me to just adjust my eating to my time schedule. so I have coffee in the morning then at 11 I eat breakfast, usually some hummus and carrots. around 3 I have some Soup for lunch then I eat dinner at 7 . It seems to work and at least you are not forcing yourself to drink that nasty protein.

I haven't tried them yet, but I'm going to try these recipes using Carnation Instant Breakfast. I've been drinking it cold every morning but once the weather gets colder I think I'll want something warm and these recipes look really good.

Coltonwade...You had recommended those Bolthouse Farms drinks before and on your recommendation I tried them and let me just say the Mocha Cappucino is delicious! Unfortunately none of the stores around here seem to sell the Hazelnut Latte or I'd get that one too. I bought the Vanilla Chai Tea and didn't really like it that much...a bit too sickly sweet. I love Chai tea, but didn't really care for that one. But the other one was yum! Thanks for suggesting those. :)

I have been buying protien bars for breakfast, i have tried slimfast optima (good) proti-life (good) and Body for Life (blechh).

I was a protien shake in the morning person, but my band doc, insists on NOT drinking calories, or drinking food.

I am finding The protien bars a little more portable, and there is no washing of cups involved !!

I have not tried the Vanilla since i dont really care for Vanilla drinks much anyway . I LOVE LOVE The Mocha and the Hazelnut though .

I would ask the stores you get the Mocha at if they can get you the Hazelnut ?

Glad you liked them

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
