Anyone banded in Austin Texas recently???

Recommended Posts

My friend went through TrueResults, the staff in Austin are nice, but not organized. The staff in San Antonio were AWESOME and ORGANIZED!

One of my docs recommended Southwest Bariatrics, but they are not covered on my insurance. Dr. Ganta is, so I will go through him first and see what I think.

I hope you are feeling good since your surgery on 11/30. My friend had hers that day as well.

I will let her know that you did, so if she wants she can ask you questions if you are feeling the same things she is, etc.

Take Care and thanks for keeping Southwest Bariatrics in the back of my mind.

I also will be using Southwest Bariatric here in Austin. I met with Dr. Nancy Marquez and thought she was great. She took her time at the consultation and answered every one of my questions. I am self pay and was quoted $15000.00 for the surgery which includes 1 year of post op and fills. I go to meet the dietitian and have labs tomarrow. Then its time for pre-op. Every thing is on track for surgery in mid January.

:whoo:

Congrats! I LOVED Southwest Bariatrics. They were great. Jerry (nutritionist) had me ROFL at my consult.

So far they have been extremely accommodating and very responsive for anything that I've needed.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Charlah - I am going to the free TrueResults seminar Monday in San Antonio. Is your experience with them "first hand" or do you know someone who has used them?

I guess you can kinda say it was first hand. Although I have not had the surgery, my roommate has. I went with her to the seminar in Austin, and to see the nutritonist and just felt like things were very unorganized. I LOVED the staff in San Antonio. Dr. Gonzalez is the one that performed the surgery on my friend. She had her surgery on 11/30 and is doing great! They called her that Saturday to check on her. The staff in Austin didn't even call to check on her. I felt like they should have since this is the facility she will be going to.

Let me know how it goes! I think you will like the folks in San Antonio!!!

Hi,

I'm starting this process and trying to decide what surgeon to choose. How and which surgeon did you select?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
