How are you doing Kimmie40351 with your journey through bureaucracy and Kentucky Medicare? Don't get frustrated, a lot of us have had to fight with our State and Provincial goverments, haven't heard of any b of them known for their reasonableness. Hang in there Honey and every little thing will work out right.

Kimmie- you might consider asking your surgeon to do some tests to determine the cause of reflux while you’re going through all this. I’m in Louisville and one of the major reasons I was trying for wls was to end the waking multiple nights per week from 1-3 am puking from reflux. I assumed it was weight related (as did my pcp). Fortunately, my surgeon (Dr Ben Tanner at Nortons) decided to check into it a little more and determined it was due to gastroparesis (I don’t digest food at the same rate of a normal body). It influenced his choice of surgery. I’m very very happy with the extra care he took to check on that and with the RNY I subsequently had (no more reflux for me)! I know that’s a little off topic, but seeing as how you’re in KY I thought I’d share. Also, the 6 mo goes by quicker than you’d think!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
