I had the lap band put in around 7 years ago I can honestly say I was happy with the weight loss in the beginning.but then the vomiting continued still to this day 3 times I had to go to er because I had meat stuck and I could not even drink Water nothing without throwing up so 3 times had to go under anistetic to get pieces removed was terrible.i thought everybody was going threw the same thing I was till I watched w5 last week I got my procedure don’t the same place they showed and same dr then I started feeling really pissed off these professionals knew this was going on with other paicients. Yet welcoming you in with a big smile taking my $16,000 that I worked very hard for. Now I need it removed can not handle the vomiting anymore still can’t go to a restaurant with out having to go throw up in the washroom wen something won’t go down I too would make sure I had bags in my vehicle for car trips incase I needed to throw up I think we should be sueing this lapband company for if anything pain and suffering.would like to hear people’s opinion please and thank you

Have you seen your doctor for follow up adjustments or to find our why you are having problems? Why would you continue to eat a food that gave you problems?

Maybe an unfill to start? Your doctor surely wants to see you. You should not be sick for a week, let alone 9 months. Please try.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
