All Liquid Pre-Op Diet help

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone!
I’m on my 6th day of this liquid pre-op diet that consists of 4 Protein Shakes a day. I know some people have diets where they can have solids, but it doesn’t state that on mine. I’m having issues with the Protein shakes. I’ve picked up several kinds and I’m having a hard time getting them down at this point and I almost rather not consume anything. I definitely need the Protein though, so I’m trying to push through and not starve myself. Did anyone have a similar experience?

Try mixing up the Protein Shakes a bit. I added PB Fit to a chocolate Premier Protein and it’s so good! I also bought some puréed pumpkin and added that plus some pumpkin pie extract and that was really good. As long as what you add is low in sugar I think you will be ok. I was specifically told by my nutritionist not to add banana because of the sugar content or that would have been the first thing I tried!

Try Unjury’s unflavored Protein so that you can mix with what you can drink!

Congrats on your 6th Day. I was looking on the site. They have fruit flavored Protein, and iced tea. Have you tried those? Maybe drinking something that isn't a shake would be easier?

Hi. I had to buy my pre-op Protein Shakes directly from my doctor. One of them was really good. It was hot cocoa Protein Shake (mix w heated water). Then after surgery, I'm liking vanilla EAS Lean 15 (15 g Protein, 5 or less g sugar) blended in blender w ice (put ice in first and turn on then add Water and add ins then blend), water/milk, scoop of powder, and PB Fit (I use this) or a spoon of PB (if allowed in shake per dr), or berries (if allowed per dr), or cinnamon. It's good and a nice change from regular shakes. :206_cat:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
