Flying/Driving - 9 Days After Banding . . .

Not certain where to post this but has anyone traveled this soon after surgery? My banding is scheduled for Thurs. 10/25 and my trip is Sat. 11/3. I have the option to drive 5-hours and stay overnight OR fly a little over 1-hr and do round trip in 1 day. This is a business trip that I really need to take. Is this realistic or am I dreaming? :help:

Thanks,

Paula

I really felt like I 'turned the corner' at day 10, so you'll probably be feeling alright. If it were ME, however, I'd drive the 5 hours and spend the night. I find air travel kind of stressful (airports, security, luggage, etc.) and to do that trip in one day!! Oy! But that's me. You only need to keep in miind that even though you'll be feeling better, a trip like that will make you very tired...more than normal. Take it easy.

Thank you for your replies. You ALL make very valid points. I guess I will play it by ear and make a decision by mid-week next week.

Oh my! I am down for the count now. This time tomorrow I will be in bandland!:whoo:

There are people that take 10 hour flights home two days after surgery from Mexico. Flying shouldn't be a problem.
Yes, but they did it because they didn't have much choice. This poster does. She's talking about conducting business as well as spending several hours traveling.

Maybe I misunderstood the question, I thought it was should she drive or fly. I would have preferred a 1 hour flight over 5 hours of driving after my own surgery.
