First NSV - Looked at my poor bruised (blood thinner injections), scarred, and stretchmarked stomach and apron and felt sorry for them instead of angry with then for the first time. Reclaimed them as part of me rather than the disgusting traitors and have begun moisturising and looking after them along with my other overlapping and swinging bulgy bits. Accepted they'll still be there albeit deflated, so may's well be at peace with them :-)

So, so many! But the best one ever: my husband was folding the laundry and he couldn't tell if some clothes were mine or my 13 year old daughter's!

KG371 - congrats! The same thing is happening in my house! I asked my husband why my 13 yr olds clothes are in our closet and he said “ I guess I just can’t tell your clothes apart anymore “. 😁

I went to the mall for help in buying a new bra. The sales person grabbed a t-shirt for me to try on with the bras. When she handed it to me I paused and said I'd probably need a larger size. She said it was a medium which is what she said looked like my size. And by golly, it fit!

I used to only be able to buy bras at specialty stores or online, which was always a gamble. I shrank out of the bra I bought (for $60-some dollars!) maybe 3-4 months post-op, so I went to the same specialty shop to try to find a smaller size, and they were closed. So I went to Target. And found a bra that fit. For $20! I could have died. I've not bought a bra at Target literally since early high school.

That’s so funny, I just got my ring resized. I haven’t worn it in 2 months because as I was trying on my wedding dress, it fell right off, and I was terrified. I was holding off on resizing until I was done losing weight...but I kinda should wear it on my wedding day lol $180 later to make it smaller 😩

yesterdays NSV - I was able to buy a few items of clothes at a physical Old Navy store because I didn't need plus size . Today, I realized I needed to go and exchange a couple sweaters because they're too large! So I was able to buy XL sweaters! (even though I know ON runs large, still excited).

Today is my 10-year wedding anniversary. Yesterday I went shopping for a cocktail dress for a special weekend we have planned.

When I was in high school, my friends and I would go to the mall and try on prom dresses in the department store junior section, just for fun. The largest size they ever had was a 14. I would ask my friends to try to zip the dress up, and it wouldn't zip, ever. I blamed my boobs or my large frame (shoulders/ribs too wide..) but the truth was, I was just too heavy. It still makes me feel shame, even 20 years later.

Well, yesterday, I found a beautiful cocktail dress in a size 12. I decided to try it on, despite having flashbacks to high school. It was tight and I couldn't reach to zip it myself, so I stepped out to ask an attendant to zip it for me. Y'all - it fit, with space to spare. I feel like Carrie Bradshaw in this damn dress, and I bought a pair of sky-high heels to match.

And the best part? This normally $298 dress was on clearance at Nordstrom Rack for $35!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
