looking for information on appendicitis

Recommended Posts

I am 6 month post-op my sleeve surgery, within the last two weeks (I would say) every time I eat I get pain in my stomach, today is the worse it starts I above my belly button and moves over to the right side. As I am typing this the pain is getting worse (much more noticeable). I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it could be appendicitis. Not sure if after having the sleeve done if your appendix can go bad. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't believe there's a correlation between bariatric surgery and appendix problems. . Gallbladder pain is extremely common however and a large percentage of bariatric patients will need their gallbladder removed

I no longer have my gallbladder, had that removed in 2013 which was 4 year before my bariatric surgery

My son had appendicitis and when I called the dr she asked if he could jump because apparently if you can't jump because of the pain that is an indicator of appendicitis because of the rebound pain.

I had an appendectomy in 2008. The pain mostly was around my belly button and radiated outward. I actually had the pain for about 6 months, had gone to the doctor originally and they though I was having a reaction to something I ate. It would happen off and on over the next few months then in April 2008 it got so bad I ended up in the ER at 3Am. Originally they told me I was constipated but I insisted on a CT Scan and they determined it was appendicitis and I went in for emergency surgery a few hours later (it was a holiday so they had to call in the on-call team)

Thank you. I am a great advocate for myself and my health. back in 2013 I had my gallbladder removed after insisting that there was something wrong. Even though all the test keep coming back normal. It was until I find a great surgeon who agreed to remove it and find that it was so diseased there was no blood supply to it. I have been dealing with this pain in my belly prior to my gastric sleeve surgery on May 31, 2017. I then had to have my esophagus re-dilated on August 2, 2017. I continue to be told that its not my appendix's but you know your own body. So I go tomorrow for an ultra sound on my belly, and they did more blood work. Hopefully I will finally get some answers and these doctors will start listening more so to their clients. All my research is pointIng to appendixs.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
