Terribly nauseated at the two week mark

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering if anyone developed extreme nausea two weeks into the liquid diet.< /p>

I have felt so good up until today. Now I feel wiped out and so weak. I'm doing well getting in my fluids, but today, I'm not doing well at all. The Protein Shakes taste gross and I can't get any Water down, I've tried the zofran, didn't help. I have some promethazine, I'm going to try that. No matter what I do my heart feels like it is pounding so fast. Thanks for listening. I'm not a complainer at all, I was just wondering if anyone else experienced these symptoms.

Starting weight: 269

Pre op weight: 241

Weight after pre-op: 234

Post op weight, when I got home 247

Weight after two weeks: 231

I had the same thing happen to me at my 2 weeks they told my I was nauseous because I was dehydrated.
I ended up in the hospital and because I wasn’t eating my sugar and blood pressure dropped and my potassium was low while I was there but while I was there I hit my three week mark and was able to eat some eggs while I was in the hospital and that was the best thing ever right after I ate the eggs I started to feel better.
I would say keep taking the promethazine and Zofran so you can keep drinking and not get dehydrated and if your like me soon as you can eat real good you start feeling better I think it was just my body’s way of saying no more Soup haha

Thank you both for your response! My sister brought over a drink called Body Armor lite super drink. It has 20'calories and lots of electrolytes and it has coconut Water in it. It's all natural with 200% of the b Vitamins. It's really good! I sure don't want to go to the hospital! I will drink this along with water and hot tea in between time. I was super dizzy. Every time I would get out of bed my dog would go crazy until I got back in. I think my dog sensed that I wasn't feeling well! I think you are both absolutely right, the dreaded dehydration. Thanks again!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
