Plateaued after losing 130lbs

Recommended Posts

I have plateaued so hard this last month. I’ve only lost 2 pounds! I know I need to change up what I am doing a bit but I have no motivation. I am an infant toddler teacher and by the end of the day I am completely exhausted. Someone help!

First let me say that you've done incredible! Rather than worrying about the plateau, bask in your success. Second, see if you can just do some walking after work. You'll probably feel pretty good after it's done.

Whenever this happens to me, I need to really analyze my food intake vs my RMR. Of course the most accurate way to get that number is a physical test, but you can do a calculation online for a decent estimate. Then just check that against your calories! I always find that I'm a bit over where I should be. I still eat like an obese person sometimes!

that far out, it would not be that unusual to plateau for a month or so. If it's more than that, you may want to decrease your calories a bit and see if that helps.

I was watching a you tube video of Dr Vuong that someone put me on to. I don't agree with everything he suggests as its contrary to my surgeon and Dietitian but he did point out the various stages people stall. 3 weeks was one 7 months was another. He said it was common to stall for even a month or two. He has a diet plan for his patients but it's not for me but it might suit you. He's easy to find just type the name in you tube. I have stalled a couple if times and upped the Protein and lowered carbs and kickstarted it. Seems to work. I work til 8pm so I try to have easy options during the week and cook and freeze a few things on the weekend. Doesn't take long just an hour or so on a sat or sun. Congratulations with the weight-loss so far you'll get there [emoji4]

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
