Sleevers who had a lower BMI...

Recommended Posts

Those who are short (5'2-5'3 and under) and were 215lbs or less or had a BMI of 40 or less, did the weight come off slow for you? My surgeon warned me that the weight loss may be slow for me due to my weight/BMI being at the bare minimum for surgery. At first, I didn't believe it because I have had some pretty decent weight loss so far but now I can tell its starting to slow down so I am just curious what others experiences were!

My Stats:

Surgery: 9/18
HEIGHT: 5'0"
BMI: 40
HW: 212
SW: 205
CW: 173
GOAL: 130

Thanks :-)

I am almost 6 weeks post-op and it seems the weight is creeping slowly off as of late. I am just going to be patient and ride it out and see how it goes. I have been going to the gym 5 times a week, thinking of going 3 times to see if that helps.

I got sleeved on Oct 11. I'm 5 ft even and went from my highest weight (220) to my 186. I've been at a stall for about a week and half now. I was told that weight loss would be slower for us and that as long as we stay patient, it will come off. My goal is 130 too! I saw on another post that someone reached their goal weight in 7 months :o Seeing progress like that kind of frustrates me because I'm not losing that fast. But I know we can do it! What are you eating and do you go to the gym??

My BMI was 31 when I started 203 lbs, 5’10”. Im at 163lbs now, BMI 24 😊. I’m at my goal, but wouldn’t mind going down to 155. 5 months for my loss. But I lost over 1/2 my hair , 6 months post it started growing back.

I wound up having to GAIN 20+ pounds to just get to 200+ for my BMI to be over 35, it sucked. I'm 5'3”and the extra 70+ pounds on my frame is NOT good. BUT yes, the weight is taking a little longer to come off. I did loose about 20+ during the Pre-op diet so that was cool, and starting to loose now that I’m on Soft and Moist foods. I have not had a chance to walk the way I want or work out, just recovering and too much other stuff in house to do. But we'll get there. My goal is 130 before June 6th (my birthday) and have been told it's doable :)

I'm 5'2" and my high weight was 195 on June 1st. Surgery weight 180 on August 11th, and now I'm down a total of 43 lbs. Current weight 151.7. It seems slow to me, but I'm off all meds, and dropped 1 pant size and down to a medium top (from XL). I'm thrilled!

I'm not short, but my BMI was 31.6 on the day of my surgery. I made my goal weight at 5 months post op and I am now 5.5 lbs under it at 154.5 at 6 months.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
