I’m wanting weight loss surgery but I don’t have health insurance. I’m from Houston,TX. Can anyone suggest a doctors office that offers affordable payment options for their procedures?

I had my surgery in Tijuana, Mexico. In researching places to go, there are many p,laces that are affiliated with credit/ loan programs. My friend used this method for her surgery. They did pull her credit and after approved she now has monthly payments to make.

I do not know the company that she used for financing. But she found the option for financing on the Obesity Control Center website.

I hope that helps.

It depends on your STATS: weight etc. There is a DR that does WLS's in Texas. He does surgeries on the larger sized people. He is on TV also. I think he is a pretty good Surgeon and he is a NO CRAP taker. LOL His name is DR. NOW, I can't say or spell his last name but you can look him up under "My 600# Life. Maybe this won't help you but I thought I would throw it out there. Also, the company that my hubby went thru had payment plans. I would not suggest them. It is BELITE. Don't go to Juarez, Mexico please!!! If you are interested I can give you the low down on it. Have a great Sunday!!

I live in San Antonio and just arrived to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, where I will be having my surgery. Total price will be around $5,000 out of pocket. There is also a really good surgeon in Piedras Negras, Coahuila who operated on my cousin and got great results... that doctor runs you about $9,000 however. Hope this helps! :)

I also live in Houston, my surgeon is Dr.Galileo Villareal in Nuevo Laredo, MX, a 5 1/2 hr drive from Houston. Today is my surgery at 9 am. I paid $4099 total included lodging & hospital stay for 2 days. I'll be home on Sunday. My doc is awesome!!! My insurance did not cover this surgery, so I did some research into Bariatric surgery and found him through an agency. Say a prayer for me, I go in to surgery at 9am. Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
