Today had to be the most difficult day since surgery!! Attended my granddaughter's 2nd birthday party. Had a great time and am truly blessed that I was able to attend. Issue was the food:wacko: The usual party food of pizza, cake, ice cream, pop, etc. I had packed a little bag of my own food but felt a bit uncomfortable pulling out my container of cottage cheese and sugar free applesauce while everyone else was enjoying everything else. Does this ever get any easier??? Getting worried about how to handle the holidays. My support group has a meeting this month on dealing with the holidays and hope that helps.

I'm going to be facing this a lot over the next couple of months too. Still trying to figure out how I will handle it.

Your 2yr old grandbaby doesn't care if you eat cake - just needs you to be there AND be there for years to come.

I never pay attention to what anyone is eating at a bd party, too busy watching the kiddos open presents. You can always volunteer to take the photos. Or clean up, then go in the kitchen and take a few bites of your planned food, come back out with a drink in your hand and look busy. Fake it.

It does get easier. In assuming your still on purees when your on normal food depending on your plan you could eat pizza topping. I'm.allowed pizza but went to a Halloween party they offered me some I just didn't want it.. No one cares if you eat honestly.

Social outings I now breeze through. No one cares as much as you do. I focus on socializing with the people I'm there with and keeping busy. Eat before you go and keep a bottled Water in your hand. before you know it, its over. If the social gathering involves going out to eat-- order your food and a to go box. Don't eat anything until your entrée arrives and when it does take a few bites of everything between conversation and then pack it up. No one will notice. Yes it does get better. Or at least your perspective will.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
