One month since my bypass

Recommended Posts

I can't believe it's already been a month since my surgery! It hasn't been the easiest month that's for sure, to weeks in and I was back in the hospital for a week. I was having a hard time keeping anything, liquids or solids down. I had to have an endoscopy done and it turned out that I have a hernia in my esophagus and erosion in the lining of my stomach. But I am home now and on the mend. Since the morning of surgery I've lost exactly 20lbs and a total of 37lbs since the 2 week post op diet.

Sometimes I stress myself that I'm not kidding as fast as I should. But.... I'm losing and I'm on too a healthier life! IMG_20171104_120138_633.jpg

I’m sorry you had a rough start to your journey. I can’t speak from experience yet, but I hope you are feeling better each day.
As far as losing is concerned you can already see a big difference!

Thanks! I am doing much better! I still can't keep much more than Water or Soup down but that's better than nothing! As for the weight I can definitely feel the difference when I put my clothes on. They are all much looser now. I just sometimes feel I should of lost more than 20lbs by now and that makes me feel down sometimes

CONGRATULATIONS on your accomplishments thusfar! :) :1311_thumbsup_tone2: You can already see a difference & you're doing great, especially when you consider the set back re: hospitalization, etc. I'm 2 months out & have only lost 20 lbs., but am focusing on the benefits so far & weighing weekly instead of daily helps too. I too had really felt down when I hit a 3 week stall that lasted for 3 weeks! Thank God that passed!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
