Yes you are lucky!! 2 weeks full liquid Optifast only shakes, 5 shakes a day + 800 calories a day

I'm not sure if I could handle just shakes. I guess it's one of those ends worth the means though. If my doc said i had to eat tree bark I would give it my best effort just to get the surgery though. I'm so tired of carrying an extra person with me all the time [emoji3] . Best of luck

I started my Pre-surgery Liquid plan. My surgery is slated for 11/7. I feel weird.. I feel so full with the Meal Replacements shakes..it’s all good. I will be honest with you, I’m kind of nervous. My mom who is heavy set herself who is also a diabetic has the audacity to lecture me what I shouldn’t be eating before my surgery date. She gave me this entire speech / lecture as though she had been sleeved before and advised me of the vegetables I shouldn’t be eating before my surgery date. According to her its standard surgery procedure. I might bleed to death. I was so annoyed! I was so taken back. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone to be with me after the surgery she is the only person that’s not working that will be available to drive me home from the hospital. I have concerns. I feel as though she’s going to try to either challenge or try to knock me down and I can’t let her! I need to embrace for impact!

Started my two week liquid diet today. Surgery is November 8th. Anybody else out there with the same surgery date. Would love to have some people to bounce things off of and talk to during this journey.

My surgery date is the day after yours, November 09, 2017. My surgeon only has us on a one week liquid diet, which I start tomorrow. I'm incredibly, INCREDIBLY confused about the diet. Overwhelmed, to be honest. Hope you're handling it better than I am.

Wow, Mellymel... :/ I'm sorry you have to go through that. My surgery is on the 9th and my husband is NO help. That's another talk show that I'll leave for another day. He's my only support network as my kids just look confused (they're grown with kids of their own) when i talk about it. I officially start my liquid diet tomorrow (Nov 2), but I tested the waters a bit today to see how tomorrow would go.. and failed terribly. It's so confusing to me, keeping up with all this stuff, to be honest. SO confusing. :/

Hang in there! I'm sure you'll do just fine! And you already get full from the shakes.. which I found I don't. I'm hungry hungry and can't seem to nip that in the bud. ***hugs***

You should be able to get the online support you need here. Good Luck! Stay strong and in your mother's eyes she is probably only trying to help or mother you as best she knows how. Placate her the best you can and keep focus.

Wow in Australia they want you to do 12-14 days on 2 Optifast shakes with Water, 2 cups of allowed veggies and 1 palm size portion of lean Protein (or two eggs). No diary, no sugar, nothing sweet and 1 coffee if you must.

I was extremely strict and had stir fry’s every night, shake at Breakfast and shake at lunch and snacked on veggies and peppermint tea during the day. I actually enjoyed the diet.

Now Post Op, I’m struggling a bit trying to just get water and mini cups of apple juice down. Was sleeved on 31st Oct and vomited all night once I got out of the hospital. Very hit and miss with some of the recommendations (like Hydrolite icy poles - don’t think my body likes those at the moment).

How’s everyone feeling about their upcoming surgery? I’m so excited to get past this swelling and ugh phase so I can start some small portioned thicker liquids like blended Soups and positron shakes next week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
