I passed my classes, I did the psychiatric visit, I now have to have tube put down my throat to check my stomach before surgeon will send letter to the insurance company. I m scared because I don't want any tube going down my throat. Lol. It's nerves. I just hope my insurance approves it.

I’m assuming the tube is your upper endoscopy? You’ll be fine. I did mine early on because I was having a lot of issues with my GERD. In one minute and out the next. It was my first time under so I was nervous too. Now I’m in the same waiting game.

I've had the tube twice. Piece of cake. The worst part is swallowing the numbing spray. Best wishes.

Yes! I forgot the name of the procedure. Yes I have GERD too. I also was just treated for bacteria growth in the intestines. I know having this surgery will help me in many ways. So keeping my fingers crossed

I just had mine last Friday. They gave me something in an IV. I remember the Dr coming in the room and asking me how I was today and then I woke up in recovery.

I have all of my tests done and they are submitting to my insurance at the end of the week and then I have to wait up to 30 days for Blue Cross. The waiting sucks.

Praying for you everything goes right. I did my blood work too. That they requested. I m not sure if the dr wants to perform : colostomy too. I hoping I don't remember thing either regards to endoscopy. Did you have to take drug test too? They want one me to take one. I will. I don't smoke or do drugs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
