It’s starting to get real

Recommended Posts

I have looked into WLS several times in the past 20 years, every time I did I would lose weight and decide that I didn’t need help and try to do it in my own. I’d lose about 20ish pounds and Celebrate with unhealthy foods, eventually quitting and returning to old habits and finding those lost 20ish pounds...and some of their friends too. This time I decided I can’t do this on my own, I need help and I was going to stick with it. I needed a 3 month nutrition trial (with 3 nutritional visits), at least 1 support group meeting, all of my labs done, surgery clearance from my primary doc, psych clearance and then my final before surgery appointment with my surgeon and nutritionist. I’ve gotten everything leading up to and including the psych evaluation done as of today. That means in less than 2 weeks I should 🤞🏼 be getting my surgery date. I’m so excited. I’m a little nervous but mostly excited to know that I am finally on a path to a healthier life. I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful weekend (((Hugs)))

A parallel story here.

Mine was not 20lbs or a bit more but more like 45kg (100lbs). Terrible yo-yoing to serious morbid obesity.

October 12 has me excited with the prospect of a changed future.

The graph is 30+ years of my life. The red line is ideal weight for my height.weight_narrow_1981-Sep2017.jpeg.ef82f96b079cb3b7e29ce0679060ff1d.jpeg

Happy Sunday!

My surgery has been moved up one day to 10/23. Three weeks!!! I am so excited to stop the yo yo game. I think I'm most nervous about the liquid diet and post op nausea than anything else.

Wishing you all the best with your upcoming surgery. Keep us posted!

Monday 8am here on the east coast of New South Wales ... 30 hours into this daylight savings season.

It's the Monday of the Labor Day long weekend and the penny has dropped for me ... just ten days until I'm in a hospital gown been prepped for my gastric sleeve op.

Tingly happy excitedness.

Those are the same things I am thinking about. Excited to be starting a new chapter, worried about the pre-op diet and dreading the after surgery nausea. I’m excited for you, 22 days!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
